Scholarship Award Announcement
Congratulations to RaeAnna Zatarski on being awarded a $500.00 scholarship on behalf of MRxI and Kushan Education. RaeAnna is a Pharmacy Student at Midwestern University in Downers Grove. I had the pleasure of asking RaeAnna a few questions about her thoughts on winning this award!
RaeAnna how did you first feel when you won this award?
"I was extremely happy when I first found out I had won this award. The MRxI scholarship is awarded to students with excellent written and verbal communication skills and I was honored that the awards committee felt that I had those qualities."
What are your future plans?
"After graduation, I would like to complete a PGY1 residency, most likely in the hospital setting. I am considering a PGY2 residency, specialty yet to be determined. In the end, I would like to work as a clinical pharmacist in either a hospital or ambulatory care clinic as well as teach student pharmacists in the university setting."
How has MRxI affected you and helped with your educational goals?
"Winning the MRxI scholarship has given me the confidence and motivation to pursue my future goals. Like many of my peers, I struggle sometimes with confidence, not knowing if I am capable of pursuing the goals I hope to achieve. Winning this scholarship has shown me that I can succeed at whatever I set my mind to."
What advice can you give to any students who might need a little more motivation to work hard and accomplish goals the way you have?
"This is a difficult question to answer, because I myself struggle at times with motivation, particularly when I am overwhelmed by what is in front of me. In those situations, I take a deep breath and just focus my mind on the task at hand. I try not to let myself get bogged down by the big picture, but just focus on what is immediately in front of me, whether that be a test, presentation, or paper. On the flip side, in terms of motivation, it does help at times to think of the big picture, remind myself what I am working so hard for."

- Community College of Rhode Island and CVS/Caremark partner to supply the community MRxI and Kushan Education's Pharmacy Technician Program.
- There will be new prerequisites for Pharmacy Technician Program at most of our locations. If you are unsure of your math skills or reading and writing skills it is recommend that you visit your college testing center to take the COMPASS test. Pre-Algebra math or higher and high school level reading skills are necessary to successfully comprehend the course materials. There is an ESL COMPASS test available for those who want to test their fluency in English as well.
